Recruiters

Just now, my answer to a recruiter's question on what salary I'm looking for "Well, we are not seeing that salary anymore for the position of X."  So for a salary that is already pennies for surviving in a major city, they are suggesting a 7 digit price drop? No. Maybe they aren't seeing that salary because they have crappy clients. Sorry sister. You don't crap on Miss Unemployed and expect your next commission.

  1. The recruiter is telling you that she cannot find you a job at the salary you are looking for. I am an out-of-work attorney. My last temporary position paid $30 an hour. This is not the recruiter's fault. This is the reality of the job market in which there is a glut of out-of-work attorneys all vying for the same positions. Salaries are not based upon the worker's needs -- that is socialism -- but rather are basued upon the economy. Recruiters are all out of work these days too. If there are no jobs, then they have no jobs to offer. Those that are still working have lousy paying jobs with lots of applicants. Their commissions are very low.
